Neuroband 2 Channel EEG Headband
$125.00
Kit contains two 8mm flat gold disk style sensors and two 8mm spring loaded flat disk ear clips terminated with a 1.5mm (.060) DIN safety plug.
Lead wires approximately 46 inches (116 cm) in length. Gold composition.Operating Principle:
A monopolar configuration consists of placing only one of the active sensors on the active brain site and the other on a relatively neutral point such as the earlobe or on the bone directly in back of the ear. The ground sensor serves to reduce artifact interference. With this configuration, the detected EEG activity is from the area surrounding the first active sensor, with the second sensor functioning primarily as a reference. Current trends in clinical EEG feedback suggest a preference for monopolar electrode configurations.
There appears to be some evidence that the process of training with a monopolar configuration produces improved EEG coherence ( i.e. greater EEG consistency over a larger region of the brain) and possibly better clinical results. It should be noted that monopolar configurations are often more susceptible to muscle artifact than bipolar configurations.
Response Characteristics:
Clinical research indicates that the behavioral correlates of EEG activity are dependent, to some extent, upon the region(s) of the brain being monitored, e.g., variances in subjective state associated with specific EEG patters between the right and left hemispheres and between the frontal, parietal and occipital lobes.
