Small and accurate hand held scanning device used to locate areas of interest. The LED display shows microvoltage. This unit is not designed for continuous monitoring or training of a muscle site.

Objective Evaluation

Identifies specific sites of elevated muscle activity/muscle tightness and asymmetry and provides numeric sEMG data relative to muscle status. Augments and expands on information gained through palpation. The MN-1000 readings can be used to identify asymmetries and readings that exceed normative sEMG values.

NOTE This unit is designed only for the user to move the instrument around the body to locate activity of interest. There is no ability to attach the sensors to the body for continuous monitoring or training of an individual muscle site.

Fast, Simple, Accurate, Safe

The clinician or trained technician rapidly becomes proficient at obtaining consistent data, useful as an adjunct to the diagnostic process. The simplicity and speed with which accurate sEMG readings can be taken make it ideal for screening purposes. Digital display features automatic switching between low and high ranges. Battery operated for maximum safety and convenience.

Superior Noise Rejection

State of the art components and design provide high input impedance, excellent common mode rejection, and, unlike some other scanners with limited frequency range, the MS-100 provides the full range of diagnostic frequencies. (Records the EMG of active as well as fatigued muscle).

Compact, Durable, Affordable

Small size makes sEMG scanning fast and easy. Supplied in a rugged, high impact plastic case for maximum durability. All elements of manufacturing and testing are done in-house to insure Noromed's rigid high standards of quality. Low cost puts it within the budget of every clinic.

Optional Expanded Use

Data may be read from the LCD display and manually recorded. Optionally, data may be fed into a computer via optional accessory interface kit (in work), allowing computer display, storage, and analysis of EMG data.

Muscle Scanning as a Diagnostic Adjunct

Bilateral monitoring of muscle groups has been found to be helpful as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of tension headache. Asymmetry in cervical and paraspinal muscle groups has been correlated with cervical and lower back pain. Other studies have shown that postural activity of the temporalis and masseter muscles are significantly higher in patients with functional disorders of the masticatory system.

Muscle palpation is of value, but it is clearly subjective and inter-rater reliability is poor. sEMG augments and provides support for manual palpation findings and may also help the clinician develop better palpation skills.
