Waveguard Net is a 24-channel saline-based EEG electrode net designed for rapid, consistent electrode placement with ANT Neuro EEGO amplifiers
Waveguard Net combines an extended 10-20 electrode layout with saline-soaked Ag/AgCl electrode contacts, a flexible silicone net structure, and shielded cabling to provide a practical solution for routine EEG acquisition.
The net includes 24 EEG channels, two reference positions at Cz and CPz, and two ground positions at AFz and Fpz. Its 1.8-meter shielded cable terminates in an HD-C68 connector for direct connection to ANT Neuro amplifiers.
Saline-Based Electrode System
Uses saline-soaked sponge contacts with coated Ag/AgCl electrodes. The soft interface adapts to pressure while the elastic net maintains scalp contact. Soak electrodes 5-10 minutes before use.
24-Channel Extended 10-20 Layout
Provides 24 EEG channels in an extended 10-20 layout, with two reference and two ground positions. Clearly labeled electrodes support consistent positioning for routine EEG recordings.
Shielded Design for ANT Neuro EEGO Systems
Uses shielded cabling for ANT Neuro eego amplifiers, with integrated cable guides to organize and protect leads. A 1.8 m cable and HD-C68 connector provide direct connection.
The Waveguard Net is designed for situations where rapid placement of multiple EEG electrodes is desired. Rather than positioning each electrode independently, the elastic net maintains the electrode array as a single structure that can be positioned over the head, aligned, and adjusted as needed. The current user guide identifies its intended use as recording EEG signals, including event-related potentials (ERP) and evoked potentials (EP), with compatible medical-grade EEG equipment.
After the net has been soaked, it is positioned from the top of the head and adjusted so that each electrode sits upright against the scalp. The earpieces and chin strap help secure the final position. When used with an eego amplifier and eego software, electrode connectivity can then be checked using the software's impedance measurement tools.
The stretchable, breathable silicone structure is designed to balance flexibility with stability. When the appropriate net size is selected, it distributes pressure across the array to help maintain electrode-to-scalp contact across all channels.
The Waveguard Net provides a practical alternative for EEG applications where repeatable electrode positioning, streamlined setup, and integration with ANT Neuro eego hardware are priorities.
Its combination of a predefined 24-channel layout, saline-based sponge contacts, flexible silicone construction, and shielded wiring allows the electrode array to be prepared and applied as a complete system rather than managing the position and cabling of each channel separately. Proper size selection also helps the net provide uniform electrode pressure and reliable scalp contact across the recording array.
For organizations already using an ANT Neuro eego system, the NA-245 offers direct hardware compatibility and a predefined configuration for eego software. The manufacturer notes that Waveguard Net hardware configurations are preconfigured in eego software version 1.10 and later.
The manufacturer recommends maintaining electrode impedance below 50 kΩ, with GND and REF impedances preferably below 20 kΩ.
The Waveguard Net is designed for repeated use when properly cleaned and maintained. After each measurement, the manufacturer recommends rinsing the net promptly with lukewarm water while keeping the connector and cable connection areas dry. Sponge inserts can also be replaced as they wear.
The manufacturer states that the electrode sensors, silicone mesh, and other materials are designed to achieve more than 250 recording and cleaning cycles, although actual product life depends on handling, cleaning, and wear.
The shielded Waveguard Nets carry a 15-month limited manufacturer warranty, subject to the handling and use conditions described in the user guide.
Correct sizing is important because a net that is too large can result in loose electrode contact, while a net that is too small can affect positioning, comfort, and wear. The manufacturer notes that head circumference is a guideline and that optimal fit also depends on head shape and hairstyle.
