A Healthy Lifestyle May Counteract Diabetes-Associated Brain Ageing

“Diabetes and even prediabetes are associated with accelerated brain ageing, especially among men and people with poor cardiometabolic health; however, a healthy lifestyle may counteract this, according to a study published in Diabetes Care.

The study included more than 31,000 people aged 40 to 70 years from the UK Biobank who had undergone a brain MRI scan. The researchers used a machine learning approach to estimate brain age in relation to the person’s chronological age.”
