Did you know post-traumatic stress disorder affects 13 million Americans?

“Though often assumed to be primarily associated with military service, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a potential outcome for anyone experiencing trauma. Research shows that approximately 13 million adults in the U.S. suffer from PTSD in any given year. However, it is estimated that only up to ~50 percent of people living with the condition may have received a PTSD diagnosis. We sat down with John Kraus, M.D., Ph.D., chief medical officer at Otsuka, to uncover some of the misconceptions around PTSD and the importance of proper diagnosis.

When we hear about PTSD, we may picture someone waking up in the middle of the night with nightmares or flashbacks. What other symptoms may occur?”
