2 cm x 9 cm aqueous, flexible, disposable and easy to use ultrasound standoff. For use in difficult to visualize and near field areas, or when gels alone won't do. Pads can be reused for several procedures on the same patient, but they are disposable for each new patient in order to help eliminate cross-contamination in diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures.

Aquaflex Ultrasound Gel Pad Key Benefits

Aquaflex pads turn tricky near-field imaging into a simple, repeatable workflow. The flexible, single-use standoff layer creates consistent acoustic coupling over uneven or sensitive anatomy, so you can see superficial structures with less fiddling and fewer repeat passes.

Clinicians appreciate the clean setup. Often no extra gel is needed. Patients appreciate the cushioned feel under the transducer.

Peel, place, scan, and toss; you get sharp detail up close while supporting infection-control best practices and faster room turnover.

  • Improves near-field and superficial visualization with a stable standoff pad
  • Disposable design reduces cross-contamination risk
  • Often requires no additional gel (use gel only for prolonged procedures)
  • Cushions bony and sensitive areas for patient comfort
  • Hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic; non-gritty and easy to handle
  • Non-flammable, non-corrosive; straightforward handling under normal use

When to Use

Use Aquaflex Gel Pads to enhance near-field detail and reduce artifacts when gels alone won't do.

  • Diagnostic scans of superficial structures (e.g., thyroid, breast, testicles, carotid, subcutaneous masses)
  • Anterior gallbladder, neonatal head, and other studies where added standoff improves clarity
  • Over small joints or bony prominences where cushioning aids contact and image quality
  • Any procedure requiring better near-field visualization with gentle, even probe pressure

Application Instructions

  1. Follow your ultrasound system and probe manufacturer’s IFU for standoff use
  2. Place the pad on clean, intact skin over the target area
  3. Seat the transducer on the pad using gentle, even pressure; adjust position for best image
  4. Use additional ultrasound gel only if the procedure is prolonged
  5. After the exam, remove and discard the pad; do not reuse

Clean up

  • Peel off and dispose; typically no residue remains on skin
  • If needed, wipe skin or probe face with a soft cloth moistened with water
  • For spills, area may be slippery—absorb and mop with water

Ingredients

Proprietary aqueous gel pad with paraben preservatives; no OSHA-hazardous ingredients disclosed.

Safety Information

  • For external use only on intact, unbroken skin
  • Do not use on patients with known sensitivity to parabens
  • Discard if the package is damaged or contamination is suspected
  • First aid: rinse eyes with plenty of water if contact occurs; if swallowed or if irritation persists, seek medical advice

Storage and handling

  • Protect from direct sunlight; no special handling required under normal use
